Travis Martinez

Travis Martinez is currently a Deputy Chief of Police with the Redlands Police Department.  Throughout his 27 years of service, he has sought both innovative and affordable technological strategies to address crime trends occurring in the community.  He and his team began deploying GPS technology to apprehend those that were driving up the crime rates in Redlands.    With over 350+ arrests for crimes ranging from theft to armed robbery, the strategy has been adopted by police departments across the nation.  DC Martinez has also worked with the community to install automated license plate readers that take into account privacy concerns. As organized retail crime began to flourish in California, DC Martinez has married the two technologies to develop a strategy in which law enforcement and retail business can partner to hold those who commit ORC accountable for their crimes.    In addition, he has written several articles on both technology strategies that have been published in various law enforcement publications and has presented at several local, state, and national conferences on both topics.
