Nancy Swigert

Nancy Swigert, volunteer community educator, has volunteered for the Alzheimer’s Association in Kentucky and now in North Carolina for 15 years.  She is a retired speech-language pathologist. While directing the Speech-Language Pathology Department at Baptist Health Lexington Hospital in Kentucky, she collaborated with neurologists to form a Memory Care Clinic and worked with patients and families facing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.  She is board certified in swallowing and swallowing disorders. She is also personally committed to raising awareness, as she lost her mother to the disease at the age of 92.
