On any given day, there are between 80,000 and 90,000 active missing person cases in the United States. It is also estimated that approximately 40,000 unidentified decedents have been recovered across the United States. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) provides free resources to help agencies resolve these important cases.

This webinar provided an overview of NamUs, as well as best practices for utilizing dental records, DNA, fingerprints, and analytical tools to resolve cases. Tips for using the NamUs search tools to locate potential leads were also be discussed, and case studies were provided to illustrate the effective use of NamUs resources.
