In general, law enforcement agencies continue to utilize traditional methods such as geographical saturation based on where a shooting(s) occurs. What we are seeing in Denver, anecdotally, is that many of our defendants don’t live where they commit shootings.

The National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) is an unbiased, intelligence-lead platform built on science. In short, it points us to the shooters (not neighborhoods) with no thought of race, religion, or ethnicity.

NIBIN gets shooters off the streets and into jails and prisons. In doing so, it prevents murders and improves community relations through the science of NIBIN. This webinar is a primer on NIBIN basics and will help agencies understand how they can leverage this capability in their own investigations.
