The MISSION generally speaking of emergency dispatchers and 911 call takers is: “To provide timely, professional, quality service to a highly diverse group of members of the community, fellow members and agencies, through empathy, compassion and respect, ensuring that public safety is the highest priority”.
This mission depends on today’s emergency dispatchers and “911″ call takers being educated and effectively prepared to provide timely, clear and effective instruction to those calling that may be under extreme duress.
This course provides emergency and “911″ call takers with effective instructions, strategies and principles that will allow them to provide timely instruction and direction to those person(s) involved in an active shooter, violent intruder, home invasion or occupied burglary in progress. This course will allow dispatchers and call takers to not only be educated in a classroom format by listening, analyzing and learning from actual “911″ calls from other high profile armed intruder events. Additionally the instructor will discuss the need to prepare for directing the caller in “lockdown” and “lockdown failure” through a simple “3 OUT” strategy of gross motor skills principles and techniques for effective response to these types of situations.
