Addison Owen is a Deputy County Attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO). As the 4th largest prosecutorial agency in the country, the office receives cases from over 30 law enforcement agencies. Owen currently prosecutes sex trafficking, weapons trafficking, terrorism, threats, public corruption, and gun-related violence cases. In addition, Owen is the Coordinator of the Maricopa County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) program. This program not only includes distributing violent crime data and information but also the prosecution of the CGIC cases that are submitted to the MCAO from all law enforcement agencies. Due to the volume of the CGIC cases submitted, there are currently 15 MCAO prosecutors tasked with prosecuting these cases in coordination with Owen. In addition to the CGIC program, Owen also created the Gun Prosecution Network (GPN) which meets quarterly to discuss treads. GPN has partnered with Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) to combine resources to make a great difference in the State and Federal sphere. Owen believes collaboration and strong relationships between the local and federal agencies create safer neighborhoods in Maricopa County.
